This course covers the selection, installation and inspection of roofing, cladding and waterproofing systems across concrete, sheet metal and membrane details. Participants learn how to read details, supervise workmanship and diagnose the causes of failure.

  • Compare common roofing, cladding and waterproofing systems and their uses.
  • Read roofing and waterproofing details and junction drawings.
  • Supervise the installation of sheet, tile and membrane systems.
  • Check flashings, upstands and penetrations for watertightness.
  • Diagnose the causes of leaks and damp in the building envelope.
  • Plan remedial waterproofing and manage guarantees on site.
